A STATEMENT OF INTENT

The optional gloss-black honeycomb grille creates a formidable look that delivers a clear message of unmistakeable identity and powerful intent. It is intricately designed with over 25,000 individual facets which help shift weight distribution rearward, further aiding handling and traction capabilities. DBX S also offers a dark, double-vaned, all-metal grille as standard. Whatever the preference, form merges with function to take in the huge amounts of air needed to cool the epic powertrain, whilst radiating classic Aston Martin elegance and attitude.

FRONT AND CENTRE

The unique lower splitter inner and outer design bestows visual width to the formidable face of DBX S. Unique outer bumper aero planes around the cooling intakes add further presence. An aggressive front splitter supercharges its sporty character. Optional pinstriping available on carbon or standard gloss black draws the eye across the assertive visual and aerodynamic characteristics.

ASSERTIVE AESTHETICS

New side sills with up-turned winglet profiles help channel air along the side of the car whilst adding further presence to the DBX S profile. The iconic side strake is woven into a new visual language signed off with the unique solid metal S badge. Self-presenting door handles power outwards when the SUV is unlocked. Flush-glass swivel-head door mirrors further finesse both flanks without impacting aesthetics. Attached to the mirror design are fully integrated cameras to support a 3D camera system that offers infinitely viewable 3D modelling of the SUV with associated views.

LIGHTWEIGHT MAGNESIUM WHEELS

DBX S heralds the first-ever lightweight 23” magnesium wheels* in the luxury SUV segment. Taking influence from the forthcoming mid-engine Valhalla supercar they deliver a fitting visual aesthetic to the astounding S performance. They also liberate up to 19kg of unsprung mass delivering improvements in ride quality, steering precision and feel, as well the SUV’s immediate reaction to directional input. Exclusively available for Aston Martin, these magnesium wheels are the largest ever fitted to an SUV and available in 23” satin black and satin titanium grey. DBX S is also available with 23” forged aluminium wheels as standard in a suite of styles and finishes. *Roof rails are removed with 23” magnesium wheels option. If alloy wheels are selected, roof rails are fitted, whether the roof is specified in carbon fibre or glass.

AN EXHILARATION OF EXHAUSTS

Viewed from behind, DBX S is dominated by quad exhausts which are now stacked vertically. Informed by the potent Aston Martin Vanquish, the quad stacked exhaust finishers are available in both gloss and matt finishes. The unique bumper infill panel is extended to the outer quarter and reimagined with a fully functional rear diffuser and full-width lower wing. The transformed rear bumper and diffuser have been completely reprofiled and, together with the side sills and wings, can be specified in carbon to reduce overall vehicle mass by a further 7kg.

IMPROVED CARBON FIBRE OPTICS

The new optional carbon roof has a single weave pattern to add a more performance-focused aesthetic to both exterior and interior of the DBX S. It replaces the standard glass-panel roof with a 3.8 square-metre carbon fibre option, making it the largest all-carbon roof ever to adorn an Aston Martin. Specification of the carbon roof offers a further 18kg of unsprung mass, from the very highest point of the car, reducing its centre of gravity and further enhancing both stability and agility.

DBX S packs more surging power and turbocharged performance than ever before. Engineered by Aston Martin, the upgraded 4.0-Litre Twin-Turbo V8 now produces 727PS making it the most powerful SUV in the world using only an internal combustion engine. The exhaust has been specially tailored to the new turbochargers, reducing back pressure and giving even more voice to the thunderous V8. Combined with lightweight options that produce the greatest power-to-weight ratio in the category, it firmly establishes DBX S at the apex of ultra-luxury SUV power and performance.

REDUCED WEIGHT. ENHANCED AGILITY

Exclusive to DBX S are a series of optional lightweighting innovations that bring not only assertive looks and sporting character but also remove up to 47kg of mass to deliver supreme dynamic capability. The 3.8 square-metre carbon roof is the largest ever fitted to an Aston Martin. It removes over 18kg of mass from the highest point of DBX meaning a lowered centre of gravity and enhanced dynamic reactions. 23” magnesium wheels liberate up to 19kg of unsprung mass and rotational inertia to improve steering feel, linear predictability and tracking over undulating surfaces to enhance already class-leading DBX steering. The carbon aero winglets around the DRLs and huge single-piece carbon rear panel save another 7kg. Combined with an exclusive and optional gloss black honeycomb polycarbonate grille, which removes 3kg further mass, these elements work together to help further improve weight distribution and handling.

A SINGULAR CARBON PROPSHAFT

The DBX S carbon propshaft is an enhanced engineering achievement from the Aston Martin team. Woven from super-lightweight carbon-fibre, it is moulded through technology born of the racetrack. Built to withstand over 900Nm of head-spinning torque it propels the driver at supercar speeds. From 0 to 62mph in just 3.3 seconds. And an equally impressive top speed of 193mph. Intricately fused as a one-piece shaft, it negates the need for a central bearing, eliminating the cause of vibrations that would otherwise conduct through the cabin floor and corrupt the driver’s focus within the cockpit.

RACETRACK REACTIVITY

DBX S combines increased power with set-up changes to further enhance its ceiling-shattering performance. Programmable ESP enables greater driver expression. ONE SUV. 5 THRILLING MODES

A rotary switch on the centre console lets the driver access the five configured drive modes. The DBX S gearbox has been further modified to provide an even more memorable driving experience with enhanced abilities across all modes. Change-up points are adjusted to reflect the car’s extended rev range, while downshifts in Sport and Sport+ modes when the car is in automatic are even more aggressive. Select 'Terrain' for off-road. 'GT' to maximise touring comfort. 'Sport' mode for responsive road driving and 'Individual' to select personal preferences across suspension, steering and exhaust.

AN AIR OF SUPERIORITY

The lightweight polycarbonate honeycomb grille delivers the massive cooling air flow capacity to keep DBX S performing at optimal temperatures. Its reduced weight also removes mass in front of the axle, helping weight distribution and handling. Increased airflow draws heat away from the 4.0-Litre Twin-Turbo engine, powertrain and brakes to optimise cruising capabilities, and regulate temperatures at high speeds. A rear diffuser pulls low pressure underneath the SUV while drag reduction comes from the rear wing’s sculpted management of airflow. Brake cooling ducts channel air onto the vast carbon ceramic discs to provide massive braking performance. Time after time. The quad stacked exhaust is modified to reduce backpressure, supporting higher engine rpm and increasing exhaust sound quality. Noise levels are raised, with a more brutal assertive character.
