23% of our 900+ employees across Queensland are currently undertaking nationally recognised qualifications aligned to their position ranging from sales, customer engagement, servicing technology to leadership and management.
The Queensland Training Awards have been acknowledging top training achievers for 60 years. Across 14 categories, the awards recognise individuals and organisations that strive for and have achieved success, best practice and innovation in vocational education and training.
Having previously won the Southeast Region, we are thrilled to be named Winner Large Employer of the year across our great state Queensland.
Despite the uncertainty around trading conditions throughout 2020 and 2021, Frizelle Sunshine Automotive continued to sign up Apprentices & Trainees into multiple qualifications and we are delighted by this state-wide acknowledgement of our commitment to our people.
Underpinning this award is our recently launched D.R.I.V.E program. D.R.I.V.E is all about creating career pathways today, for tomorrow’s top automotive talent. The programs remit is to develop Apprentices & Trainees whilst embedding the organisations culture of excellence.
Frizelle Sunshine Automotive have a dedicated Training Excellence Centre located out at Arundel and delivered by qualified trainers. The Training Excellence Centre aligns apprentice training to OEM technical training with a key driver around improving apprentice retention.
The Training Excellence Centre is the only one of its kind delivered in collaboration with TAFE Queensland in partnership with an automotive industry dealer group. The Training Excellence Centre is heavily supported by our OEM partners.
We are equally delighted to see our NSW group Peter Warren Automotive selected as winner of the Large Employer of the Year category at the Australian Training Awards.
Reflecting on these achievements Mark Weaver, CEO of Peter Warren Automotive Holdings Limited said:
Our commitment to providing career pathways for our people is not only evidenced by our development of D.R.I.V.E but also by this National and dual State acknowledgement. A testament to our organisational commitment to training and development.
Despite the D.R.I.V.E. program still being in its infancy,
we are very excited by the progress made, and the future of our employees who
choose to pursue excellence through these training programs, as they carve out
their own career pathway in the automotive industry and prepare themselves and
our business for the ever-changing Automotive landscape.
